Continuing the Tradition –The Puerto Rico Recovery Assistance Legal Clinic’s Fourth Service-Learning Trip in June 2019

Posted by

The University at Buffalo School of Law continued its pledge to serving the people of #PuertoRico in the lasting aftermath of Hurricane Maria over the summer of 2019. In our fourth service-learning trip since UB’s Puerto Rico Recovery Assistance Legal Clinic began, we sought to bring service to this US territory with humility and commitment.

During the trip, a small group from the #UBLawResponds Clinic travelled in June 2019to work with on-going clients, discuss resiliency efforts in person with experts, and continue to refine ways for #UBLawResponds

to provide long-distance support to community resilience efforts in Puerto Rico. Including bothformal meetingsand work with farmers seeking food justice, the Clinic demonstrated its continuing commitment to a strong #PuertoRico.

As the summer continued, the whole #UBLawResponds team provided on-going pro bono legal and policy expertise from Buffalo. This work adds bandwidth to what those in Puerto Rico can do to help strengthen and build toward a resilient future. #PRSeLavanta.
